Unified Stenography Challenge Solution!

Moving forward one by one and solving the HackTheBox Stenograpgy challenges. Let’s move onto solving the Unified Stenography challenge.

On downloading the challenge we find a simple text file. With some following information.

On reading it twice i got myself stuck on the obfuscated characters. I was stuck on these characters on the same time i opened the file.

It’s clear this data has been encoded. But if we look at the comments on the top and end of the file. It seems to be UTF-8 encoding.

To work on these types of files i have always been using BURP SUITE DECODER. It’s one of the amazing tools present nowadays. On adding this whole text into the decoder.

I started to check decode it in different decoding one by one. Let’s see what does it shows if converted in the ACSII decoded.

We can clearly see the flag. All we need is to remove the @ characters from the text and we are done.
